Default A/... Sinful Degen

Profession: A/...
Name: Sinful Degen
Type: PvE, PvP untested, though my guess is that it would rock
Category: heavy degen

Attributes:

Dagger Mastery - 15 (11+3+1)
Shadow Mastery - 7 (6+1)
Critical Strikes - 13 (12+1)

Skills:

- Seeping Wound
- Black spider strike
- Twisting fangs
- Shadow refuge
- Death's charge
- Caltrops
- (optional, Malicious strike is nice)
- Rez Sig

Armour/Weapons:
Nothing specific, I use full Shrouded (+energy armour) and Zealous daggers, though poisonous or cruel daggers might work better

Summary: Start off with Seeping wound, either run to target or use DC, Black Spider strike and Twisting fangs to finish, this leaves the target with -10 health degen AND a deep wound, along with the damage from the combo.

Use Caltrops for kiters.

lose DC or Res sig (I would never opt to lose Caltrops, it just owns) and add Black lotus strike ->Blades of steel for more damage.

Notes & Concerns:
-Very energy efficient, I never run out unless I'm spamming my healing.
-Pay attention wether your target still has a hex or the combo won't work.
-Not finished with the possibilities, other proffessions might make a nice addition to the build

Credit: Haven't seen anyone else with it, so me I guess, and Anet for the skills, and Cloe Amaya my assy.

You can't start with Seeping wound, because it requires bleeding or poison on the target.

[skill]Seeping Wound[/skill]

It works. It just doesn't apply degen if target isn't poisoned or bleeding.

I had started testing something like this, but found Assassin's Promise to be more effective throughout Nightfall than Seeping Wound. Although the 10 degen is nice, 7 degen and a completely recharged skill bar works just a little bit better. Also, a completed promise will recharge your Death's Charge, not just your combo. Seeping Wound seems more suited for heavy hex removal with its quick recharge or for a boss battle with few mobs.

Though Assassin's Promise is the only thing that's decent out of deadly arts pre-nightfall, however, it's in no way efficiently usable for a dagger assasin.

- with your idea, using this means at the start of the kill, you only have 13 seconds max to kill your target, and that's only with 12 deadly arts, wich is crazy.
- it has a slow recharge, meaning if you can't kill the target before it runs out, it takes a long time to use again.
- timing this thing is irritating, 3/4th of a second is by far the most annoying cast time as it's too slow for a sudden cast.
- the duration of the hex is so low, that it'll only be useful with a high deadly arts attribute, wich will screw with you overall attributes.
-hexes like these need a cover hex, with monks using blessed light more often, and the use of this hex is right before a person dies, it's higly susceptible to removal.
